Dr. Karine Gyulnazaryan, MD, PhD
Executive Board Member
A certified reconstructive and plastic surgeon now based in Los Angeles, Dr. Gyulnazaryan brings decades of experience in both aesthetic and functional procedures, along with a deep commitment to advancing medical science. Her work bridges clinical excellence with strategic innovation through her consulting role at Kava Business Group here in California.
But beyond her professional accomplishments, what makes Karine’s presence on our board profoundly meaningful is the personal journey that led her here.
Karine is a mother, a wife, and someone who finds deep joy in beauty—whether through healing, interior design, or fashion. While she’s new to nonprofit work, this step is rooted in love and legacy. Her daughter Luisa, a bright and compassionate 19-year-old, was devoted to making the world better. She volunteered on Skid Row and at shelters in Santa Monica and was on a full scholarship to UCLA, studying pre-med, with dreams of serving others through medicine.
Tragically, Luisa's life was cut short in a car accident. In the wake of this unimaginable loss, Karine made a powerful decision—to honor her daughter's spirit by continuing the work Luisa had begun. Joining our board is her way of stepping into Luisa’s mission and making space for purpose, healing, and service.
